NAATI CCL Registration

National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters – NAATI recently introduced a Credentialed Community Language (CCL) Test that gives 5 points to international students for their point-based GSM Visa. CCL test determines an applicant’s ability to understand and capacity to express the conversation in both languages (English and Language other than English fluently and accurately).

If you are planning to give Nepali NAATI CCL test and looking for benefits in your Australia permanent residency goals, you are eligible to gain five points under credentialed community language (CCL) points upon successful accreditation from NAATI.
It's easy for NAATI CCL Registration, you just have to follow these steps:
  1. Go to the link Log into myNAATI
  2. First, sign up, submit the new application.
  3. Then choose the Credentialed Community Language Test.
  4. Submit the application without payment. Please provide scanned passport copy and your passport-sized photo.
  5. Once the application is approved, they will ask you to select the date and also for the payment.
You will have to carry the same ID proof at the time of your test otherwise you won’t be allowed to sit for the test.

NAATI CCL Test Fee and validity of the documentation

The cost of NAATI CCL Test is $800 inclusive of GST and test result is valid for three years only. With NAATI CCL certificate you won’t be able to practice as a certified translator/Interpreter the purpose of this CCL Test is just to help you get 5 points for your Australia PR and it’s valid for three years from the date of issue after which you cannot use it to claim the 5 points.

About the test, you need to know

The test will have two dialogues which are recorded by the test officers and a candidate is to interpret each segment.
A candidate will be made to listen, two dialogue between two speakers one in English and another one in a language other than English and has to translate and interpret in both the languages. This test evaluates not just a candidate’s comprehension and paraphrasing ability but as well to understand and check the influence of Australian society.
Each dialogue is of approximately 300 words, half in English and half in LOTE. This dialogue is divided into segments and each segment have less or equal to 35 words. Each dialogue is marked out of a total of 45 points and to pass it the candidate needs to score 29 points for two dialogues.
A candidate needs to score at least 63 marks out of 90 overalls.
Duration of the test will be 30 minutes approximately.
